Welcome to Aeona AI. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our AI companion services, including our proactive check-in and avatar generation features.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Data: Email address and username.

• Selfies & Images: We process provided photographs ("Selfies") to analyze facial traits. This is used to create a text-based prompt for our AI generation partners.

• Chat Content: We collect conversation text to maintain your history and provide service continuity.

B. Automated & Contextual Data Collection (2026 Features)

• Background Location: With your explicit consent, we collect precise location data even when the app is closed. This is used strictly for "Proactive Presence" (e.g., welcoming you home).

• Physical Activity: We use the Activity Transition API to detect when you are "Still," "Walking," or "In-Vehicle." This ensures Aeona only initiates conversation at appropriate times.

• Device Information: Model, OS version (Android 12-16), and unique identifiers for performance optimization.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Proactive Engagement: Using location and activity sensors to trigger AI-generated check-ins.

• Avatar Generation: Mapping physical traits from your selfie to a digital character.

• Powering AI Conversations: Processing prompts via third-party partners to generate responses.

• Foreground Data Sync: Using FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC to reliably download high-fidelity AI assets even if you leave the app.

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Sharing

We partner with specialized AI providers. Data is shared as follows:

• OpenRouter: Text prompts are sent via secure API to access LLM models.

• Pollinations.ai: Visual prompts are sent to generate your avatar.

• No Training Policy: We do not sell your data. Our primary partners do not use your private chats to train public models when accessed through our secure API.

4. AI Transparency (2026 Standards)

• Non-Human Interaction: You are interacting with a synthetic entity.

• AIGC Labeling: In compliance with the 2026 AI Act, images generated are digitally marked as AI-generated content (AIGC).

• Probabilistic Output: AI can "hallucinate." Users are encouraged to verify important info.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Location/Activity Data: Processed ephemerally. We do not store a permanent log of your movements.

• Selfies: Original selfies are deleted immediately after the avatar prompt is generated.

• Account Deletion: You may delete your account in Settings. Data is scrubbed within 30 days.

6. Physical Activity Data & Sensor Usage 

• Aeona accesses "Physical Activity" data via the Android ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION permission. 

• How we use it: This data allows our AI models to understand the user's physical context (e.g., whether the user is walking, running, or stationary) to provide contextually relevant conversational responses and personalized interactions.

• Data Handling: This movement data is used solely for core app functionality. It is not used for advertising purposes, nor is it sold or shared with any third-party brokers.

• Retention: Activity data is processed [select one: locally on your device OR on our secure servers] and is kept only as long as necessary to maintain your AI’s continuity.

7. Age Requirements

Aeona AI is strictly for individuals aged 18 and older. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for use by minors.

8. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA/BORA)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You may withdraw consent for location or activity tracking at any time via your device settings.
